Professional experience:
- ARTLAB IVF SKILLS TRAINING CENTER 10-week Intensive IVF Skills Training Course covering all procedures in the andrology/embryology laboratory. Skills learned included: Semen Analysis, Sperm Preps, Semen Cryopreservation, Lenshooke, Zymot, TESE Preps, Oocyte retrievals, oocyte/embryo grading, Embryo Culture, Time Lapse Incubation, Oocyte and Embryo Vitrification, ICSI and Trophectoderm biopsy. This intensive course included daily hands-on training sessions as well as basic/advanced lecture courses.
- Paramount Life Care – Healthcare Assistant; Lagos June 2019 – September 2019. Observed and assisted with radiology procedures, including x-rays, MRIs, CT scans, and ultrasounds, under the supervision of senior radiology technicians and physicians. Participated in patient care and communication, including patient intake, preparation, and post-procedure care, as well as answering patient questions and concerns. Maintained and organized patient records and imaging data, including entering data into computer systems, and ensuring patient confidentiality and privacy. Collaborated with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and medical assistants, to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
- National hospital – Healthcare Assistant; Abuja. May 2018 – August 2018. Observed and assisted with cardiology procedures, including echocardiograms, and stress tests under the supervision of senior cardiologists and cardiovascular technicians. Assisted in checking the vital signs of patients and carrying out peak flow tests. Compiled data, updated spreadsheets, and produced timely reports.
Educational experience:
- University of Leeds | Master of Science (MSc) Clinical embryology and assisted reproductive technology. September 2022 – December 2023. Acquired knowledge and skills related to assisted reproductive technologies (ART), such as in vitro fertilization (IVF), intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT), and embryo cryopreservation. Developed competence in diagnosing and treating a wide range of reproductive disorders, including infertility, sexual dysfunction, and reproductive cancers. Learned the HFEA code of practice including the ethical, legal, and social issues related to Assisted reproductive technology, including informed consent, surrogacy, and genetic testing.
- Afe Babalola University | Bachelor of Science (BSc) Anatomy | Ado-Ekiti September 2016 – October 2020. Member of Anatomical Students Society of Nigeria. Acquired knowledge of the basic principles of human anatomy, including the structure and function of major organ systems, such as the cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, and nervous systems. Understood the microscopic structure of tissues and organs, including the study of histology and cell biology. Mastery of anatomical dissection techniques and the ability to use laboratory equipment and tools to examine and manipulate anatomical specimens.
