Meet the Team Behind IVF PRO Assessments

Below is the team dedicated to delivering IVF PRO assessments and project support. The specific Assessors involved in your on-site visit will be selected based on your clinic’s preferences and practical factors such as geographic location.

Typically, 1–2 Assessors will be assigned to each IVF PRO project. While all assessments and reports are conducted in English, our Assessors are multilingual and can accommodate various language needs where possible.

Mr. Javier Herero Zapata

  • IVF/Embryology Consultant and Advisor for 20+ years with experience in Clinic Quality Management, Strategy Planning and Leadership/Mentoring
  • MSc. Emotional Intelligence, Leadership & Coaching, MSc. Biotechnology of Human Assisted Reproduction & BSc. Neurobiology in Spain.
  • Extensive experience in the field of assisted reproduction, clinical management and quality management as well as having coordinated expansion projects in international companies.
  • Passionate about Emotional Intelligence and Coaching for the development of Soft skills, Leadership and Management of teams and people.
  • Experience at leading clinic networks with oocyte and semen donation, donor marketing strategy, clinical rates in donor cycles etc.
  • International experiences with expansion projects, design and start-up of IVF laboratories.
  • Published in leading scientific journals such as Fertility and Sterility, Human Reproduction on topics within time-lapse, use and analysis of morphokinetics, aneuploidy screening etc.
Mr. Giles Palmer

Experiences:

  • Senior clinical embryologist with 35+ years of experience in staff training and laboratory management.
  • Graduating in Genetics at Leeds University, UK and research officer at London’s Hammersmith Hospital’s acclaimed IVF unit working with Professors Lord Winston and Alan Handyside. Certified HCPC clinical scientist in the UK and has been accredited with Senior Embryologist Status by ESHRE.
  • Extensive experience in conducting clinic assessments, inspections and troubleshooting.
  • Clinic and quality manager, overseeing regulatory compliance, clinic operations, bidding for service contracts, and designing laboratories.
  • Consultant for IVF clinics, product developer within the ART industry, Assessor for ESHRE accreditation of training centres in clinical embryology.

Dr. Maurizio Poli

  • Scientific Advisor and Clinical Embryologist with 20+ years of experience in the field of IVF.
  • MSc in Medical Biotechnologies (University of Bologna) and PhD in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (University of Oxford). Certified Clinical Scientist by HCPC, UK, ESHRE Senior Embryologist, and Diplomate of the Royal College of Pathologists (RCPath), UK.
  • Clinical consultant for laboratory audits, quality assurance assessments, strategic planning, culture systems, processing, optimization, and establishment of specialized programs within vitrification and PGT.
  • Strong in analyzing and validating clinical data, KPIs, developing performance dashboards, and ensuring quality standards.
  • Extensive international experience understanding how organizations across different regions approach IVF and embryology, enabling the assessment of performance and highest standards in ART practices.
